Paris Pride is a momentous event for the French capital, which came to fruition in the late 80s, when a group of locals from the community united over a fight for LGBTQ rights. The iconic event is the largest Pride Parade in France, and brings together roughly 90 different organizations and associations, which unite over the collective fight for equal rights for people from the LGBTQ community. The Paris Gay Pride Parade (known locally as Marche des Fiertés LGBTQ), is a major demonstration and party in the heart of France’s capital city! Around 700,000 spectators and participants take part in the annual parade, which usually concludes with a huge free party in Place de la République (sometimes at Place de la Bastille, depending on the route).
